I’ve been working on a new set of wrist warmers for a co-worker. Her favorite colors are pale blue and white, her accessories are silver, and her coat is black. I tried:

1) blue/aqua beads on black yarn. Too stark, cried out for a southwestern design

2) blue/aqua beads on white yarn. No point in white accessories, have to wash them every day

3) white beads on light blue, the white beads were lost

I settled on silver beads on pale blue/lilac. Trouble is, all I could find were rocaille beads (clear glass with a silvered lining). This means that you have to look really, really, I mean really closely to see the pattern. It is snowflakes from the marvelous Icelandic book. Just potentially a little too subtle?
